The two headed bird griffin has two holes in its back as it spreads its wings to take flight with the strength of the

sun as its guide.

On the other side the griffin rests its paw on a sphere, a symbol representing Neolithic humankind's knowledge that the earth, as with all other celestial bodies, is round.
